Application Developer
 
Young & Associates is a team of management consultants dedicated to the success of financial institutions. In 30+ years we have grown and expanded our product and service offerings to include all the major areas of banking, including risk management, capital planning, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, branching and expansion, loan review, marketing, compliance and IT. Through affiliations with state and national banking associations, we also provide educational seminars and training to more than 3,000 bankers each year.

We currently have an opportunity available for an experienced Application Developer. This position will be based out of our main office in Kent, Ohio and will not require travel. This position will begin as a one year contract position. Based on our review of the work performed and continued company needs, this may be converted to a full time position.

 The primary responsibilities of this position will be:

  • Designing, coding, testing, documenting and maintaining custom applications. These applications will be used to increase internal efficiencies and some will be sold as products to community banks.
  • Provide support for custom applications which may occasionally require contact with customers.
  • Develop or customize a CRM/Project tracking system
  • Convert existing Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel tools into standalone applications
At least two years of experience with the following technologies is required:
  • Visual Basic and Visual Basic .NET
  • Classic ASP and ASP .NET
  • HTML
  • JavaScript
  • SQL Server
  • Windows Server 2003 and 2008
  • Windows XP and Windows 7
  • Internet Information Services
  • Microsoft Excel 2003 - 2010
  • Microsoft Access 2003 - 2010
This position requires an ability to work with limited supervision and effectively interact with department representatives that have minimal experience with the application development process.

Previous experience working with financial or banking applications would be viewed as a plus.

Internal Audit

Currently, we have an opportunity available within our Internal Audit division for an individual to assist with the delivery of internal audit services to client banks:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development of control risk assessments, audit plans and schedules for client banks
  • Assist with planning of internal bank operations audits
  • Participate in internal bank operations audits
  • Participate in discussions with bank management and others regarding the results of the internal bank operations audits
  • Assist with the preparation of audit reports including results and recommendations for corrective action, if necessary
  • Assist with maintenance of internal audit programs, methods and procedures and maintain a familiarity with regulatory and industry standards and practices
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years experience in internal audit in a banking environment or equivalent in familiarity with bank operations
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, business administration or related business field is preferred
  • Strong analytical and organizations skills, detail oriented, good written/verbal communication skills
Although our main office is in NE Ohio, this individual will have the flexibility of working out of a home based office in a region in the Midwest, to provide ongoing support to our internal audit footprint in the Midwest. Applicants must have reasonable access to a major airport for travel purposes. 50% travel is required including overnight stays.

Lending / Loan Reviewer / Consultant
 
Young & Associates, Inc., a bank consulting firm, currently has an opening for an experienced Lending/Loan Reviewer/Consultant to participate on a team within our Lending department. This individual will travel with the lending team to client sites.

Although our main office is in NE Ohio (Kent), this individual will have the flexibility of being based out of a home office (when not traveling for the company) in the Midwest, to provide ongoing support to our loan review and educational clients.

Primary responsibilities are:
  • Conducting loan reviews
  • Reviewing bank lending processes
  • Assessing risk management systems
  • Providing business solutions
  • Facilitate lending seminars/workshops

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a broad based knowledge of banking
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in commercial lending
  • Excellent number skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to travel approximately 50-60% on an average, including 2-3 overnight stays per week of travel

Compliance Consultant
 
Currently, we have an opportunity available within our Compliance division for a Consultant who will specialize in all areas of regulatory Compliance. Your primary responsibilities will be to facilitate full day compliance seminars and workshops. In addition, you will assist banks in the process of setting up in-bank monitoring systems and respond to client inquiries on compliance issues.

To be considered for this position you must possess prior banking experience, including a minimum of five (5) years well rounded regulatory compliance experience with current knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act. In addition, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Your ability to travel a minimum of 60% is required; when traveling additional time and long days should be expected. Microsoft Office and general networking skills are necessary. Prior public speaking experience is important.

Although our main office is in NE Ohio, our expectation is to provide this employee the flexibility of working out of a home based office, preferably in a geographic region West of Ohio, as a means to grow our existing regional business. IT Administrator / Consultant
 

Young & Associates, Inc., a bank consulting firm, currently has an opening for an experienced IT person. This position will be based out of our main office in Kent, Ohio. The primary duties will be to provide network and PC support, new product development work, and conduct bank IT audits.

In addition, the individual selected for this position will, within their first year of employment, be required to obtain a CISSP or CISA credential. Young & Associates will pay all related expenses for this certification and will provide additional training in the bank IT audit function to the selected individual. Also, it is our expectation that this position will grow into more of a consultative type role in the future, once the certification and training are successfully completed.

The preferred candidate for this position will possess a minimum of five years of combined experience in any of the following areas:

  • Network Administration
  • Information Security
  • Risk Management
  • Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery
  • Physical Security
In addition, this individual must have excellent attention to detail, willingness to travel up to 50% (including 2-3 overnight stays per week of travel), and excellent verbal communication skills. Travel in the first year of employment will be related to training in the audit function and will be limited.

  • Auditing
